Crocodiles are wild animal. They are found throught all of the eastern and western hemisphere. They are an ancient lineage, and are believed to have changed little since the time of the dinosaurs. They are believed to be 200 million years old whereas dinosaurs became extinct 65 million years ago; crocodiles survived great extinction events.
Crocodiles live in the river, lake, swamp, and coast. They can move very fast in the water and over fast short distances, even out of water. They have sharp teeth for tearing and holding into flesh, but cannot open their mouth if it is held closed. All crocodiles have sharp and powerful claws.
